Good news for everybody who wants to support basmati financially in the future: The tax authority of the canton/state of Zurich (Switzerland) has exempted the association basmati (and thus the representing body of basmati) from tax by immediate effect.
This means that any donation to basmati (and even supply of services) is deductible from tax by the donator (according to the applicable laws). Of course, on one hand, this is an ease for all our supporters. On the other hand, the tax exemption also gives us a bigger leeway to invest in our project (since basmati is funded by our private wealth at the moment).
Basically there were three crucial conditions to achieve the tax exemption:
- Our association is a charitable organisation
- There is no pecuniary reward to the people involved
- In case the association will be closed down there will be no alienation of property. All means of the association will be bound to an investment in terms of the goals of basmati.
We’re glad to achieve this milestone which will help us with our work for basmati.
